WINDHOEK: The official opening of the seventh session of the Fifth Parliament is expected to take place next Tuesday.
This was announced by the Speaker of the National Assembly Dr Theo-Ben Gurirab in a media statement availed to Nampa on Wednesday.
“The opening of Parliament will be graced by His Excellency President Hifikepunye Pohamba in keeping with the provisions of Rule 15 of the Standing Rules and Orders,” Gurirab said.
Bills that will be tabled during the seventh session will include the Agricultural Enhancement Agents Bill; the Marriage Bill; the Appropriation Bill; the Namibia Board of Trade Bill; the Audit Bill and the Namibian Citizenship Amendment Bill.
Other Bills to be discussed are the Aviation Bill; the Child Care and Protection Bill; the Communal Land Reform Amendment Bill; the Plant Breeders’ and Farmers’ Rights Bills; the Diplomatic Privileges and Immunities Bill and the Electronic Transactions Bill.
