President Traoré Urges Cascades Defense Forces to Prepare for Intense Conflict

BANFORA – During a meeting in Banfora on Tuesday, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the Head of State, instructed the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) of the Cascades region, bordering Ivory Coast and Mali, to prepare for a high-intensity, long-term conflict aimed at thwarting terrorists and other threats.

According to Burkina Information Agency, President Traoré emphasized the readiness required for an extended conflict as part of a broader “war of decolonization” aimed at achieving total liberation. He praised the forces for their achievements against terrorism and underscored the importance of maintaining their efforts.

Captain Traoré issued a stern warning to any entities threatening the stability of Burkina Faso, stating that the country must be prepared to confront any challenges vigorously. He highlighted ongoing enhancements to logistical, human, and technical operational capacities to support the FDS in their continued efforts.

The discussions also covered issues related to combat techniques and the working conditions of the military personnel. The government committed to analyzing these aspects closely and providing necessary support to ensure the forces are well-prepared.

Moreover, the President lauded the strong bond between the army and the nation and encouraged further strengthening of this relationship and collaboration with the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP), expressing confidence in the eventual defeat of terrorism.
