Cascades Region Authorities Strengthen Security Post-Reconquest


BANFORA – In a significant meeting on Tuesday morning, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the President of the Transition and Head of State of Burkina Faso, convened with administrative authorities from the Cascades region, led by Governor Badaboué Florent BAZIE. The discussions focused on strategies for solidifying security in the region following recent territorial reconquests.



According to Burkina Information Agency, during the audience, President Traoré issued directives to continue efforts towards territorial reconquest and called for the mobilization of local populations to aid in securing and maintaining these gains. The governor reported that there is considerable interest in the community, with many volunteers eager to join the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland.



The meeting also addressed the promotion of agrosylvopastoral and fisheries activities as a means to achieve food self-sufficiency in Burkina Faso. The President encouraged the administrative leaders to intensify community engagement to support these initiatives, a directive that Governor BAZIE affirmed was well received and embraced by the regional authorities.



“We are committed and determined to support the actions of the Head of State,” Governor BAZIE stated at the conclusion of the meeting. Additionally, President Traoré also held discussions with military and paramilitary leaders from the Cascades region as part of the broader strategy to enhance security and development in the area.
