Safane Media Shut Down by Tax Authorities

OUAGADOUGOU – Safane Media, including its radio station Safane FM and television channel Savane TV, was shut down by tax services on Tuesday.

According to Burkina Information Agency, The announcement was made public via the Savane TV Facebook page earlier today. The closure renders the media group’s premises inaccessible. Established in 1999, the media group had previously expanded from radio broadcasting to television. Notably, another media outlet under the group, the newspaper l’Evénement, was sealed by tax authorities in June 2023 but later reopened after partial tax payments were made with external support.
