President of Burkina Faso Teaches Class During Surprise School Visit in Péni


PÉNI – In an unusual move for a head of state, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of the Transition in Burkina Faso, conducted a lesson on citizenship and solidarity at School ‘B’ in Péni, during a surprise visit on his way to Banfora.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the president engaged with students and teachers at the school complex, which includes Schools A, B, and D. His stopover provided an opportunity to interact with the school community, which expressed joy and surprise at this unexpected event. Captain Traoré took on the role of a teacher in a CP1 class, where he discussed the importance of discipline, wisdom, and patriotism. He encouraged the students to be diligent, respect their parents, and embody good citizenship.



The president also led the students in singing the national anthem, Ditanyè, fostering a sense of national pride and civic responsibility among the young learners. Following the classroom interaction, he met with the teaching staff to discuss the educational environment and the critical role teachers play in instilling civic values in children. Captain Traoré emphasized the importance of the teachers’ work, acknowledging their daily efforts in shaping the future citizens of Burkina Faso.
