RUNDU: Three children died unnatural deaths when they were allegedly struck by lightning on Friday at the Cakai village along the Okavango River.
The children were in a hut at the Cakai village, south west of Rundu when lightning struck at about 15h00.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) responsible for the Kavango Region said in a report availed to Nampa on Sunday said that the trio died on the spot.
They have been identified as Muronga Thomas Kudumo, 8, Sikongo Marceline Kasiku, 4, and 14-year-old Fabianus Benonia Naimbodi.
Their next of kin have been informed by the police.
Meanwhile, one child died while swimming in the Okavango River on Friday at the Sauyemwa informal settlement on the outskirts of Rundu.
