Written question – Nagorno-Kabarakh conflict – E-014938/2015

The South Caucasus is one of the very few energy transit corridors that connects the East, the West, the North, and the South. This means that stability in the region is a priority for the EU, making measures to this end a priority. Hundreds of thousands of refugees and internally displaced persons who fled their homes during or in connection with the Nagorno-Karabakh war remain displaced, and they are denied their rights. In his capacity as Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, Didier Reynders has expressed his concern about the recent violence in Nagorno-Karabakh earlier this year.

Does the Commission have a unified view on the urgent action needed to hasten the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in order to fulfil the objective of ensuring stability in the region?
