President of Burkina Faso Addresses Security Forces and Announces Legal Developments

OUAGADOUGOU – In a series of events that has captivated national attention, the President of Burkina Faso addressed the country’s security forces on their progress in combating terrorism and discussed the strengthening of security measures, alongside the notable legal development regarding the release of lawyer Mr. Guy Hervé Kam.

According to Burkina Information Agency, during his speech in the Cascades region, Captain Ibrahim Traoré praised the forces for their achievements against terrorism and emphasized the necessity of long-term and intense preparedness against any threats to peace. The private daily Le Pays highlighted the president’s assurance to the public that terrorism would be defeated. Furthermore, L’express du Faso reported on the president’s commitment to addressing the needs and conditions of the security forces to ensure imminent victory.

On a related legal matter, the decision by the Administrative Court of Appeal to release Mr. Guy Hervé Kam was widely reported. Le Pays detailed that the appeal court rejected the state’s request to keep Kam detained, calling it “ill-founded,” and ordered his immediate release, upholding a lower court’s directive to the Directorate of Surveillance of the Territory.

Additionally, security efforts in the waterfalls region were discussed, with administrative authorities committing to consolidate control over the area.
