Burkinabè Journalists Complete Training Seminar in China


BEIJING – A group of approximately twenty journalists from Burkina Faso have successfully concluded a two-week training seminar in Beijing, receiving their certificates on Tuesday. This educational program was a collaboration between the Ministry of Commerce of China and the International Studies and Training Center of the China International Communication Group (CICG).



According to Burkina Information Agency, head of the international studies department at CICG, the seminar provided an interactive platform for the journalists to engage with Chinese experts and academics, enriching their understanding of China’s development. The program included a visit to Hunan province to expose the participants to advances in media technology and Chinese cultural hospitality. Zhu Zhongshu, representing the deputy director of CICG, highlighted the seminar’s role in bolstering Sino-Burkinabè relations and expressed optimism about future cultural and diplomatic engagements. Sébastian Monné, speaking on behalf of the Burkinabè journalists, appreciated the opportunity for cross-cultural exchange and anticipated continued dialogue facilitated by the internet despite geographical distances. The seminar concluded on April 23, 2024, marking the end of an enriching experience for the journalists involved.
