WINDHOEK: A taxi driver was robbed of his vehicle at gunpoint by two suspects on Saturday at about 23h00.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Deputy Commissioner Sylvanus Nghishidimbwa told Nampa on Sunday that the two suspects drove away with the taxi, but were later found by NamPol members.
One suspect was arrested, but the other one managed to run away.
In separate incidents, two cases of suicide were reported over the weekend, involving two women – aged 42 and 21.
The two incidents happened independently of each other on Saturday.
The 21-year-old apparently hung herself with a rope in her sleeping room in Maansteen Street in Khomasdal at around 19h00, while the 42-year-old took her own life, also in her sleeping room, in Willibard Kapuene Street in Katutura at around 12h00.
No suicide notes were left behind in both cases.
