ABUJA: THE Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has solicited the assistance of the National Sports Commission (NSC) in developing its sporting activities.
Head of the commission’s sports section, Bisi Kazeem, made the appeal during a courtesy call on Gbenga Elegbeleye, Director-General of NSC in Abuja.
“We are deeply involved in sports and we are here to seek your
collaboration in areas that you can be of assistance to us in developing sporting activities in the FRSC.
“We have a football team, the safety strikers in the Pro-League. We equally have table tennis, lawn tennis, badminton and other sporting activities. These teams represent Nigeria in various competitions,” he said.
Elegbeleye noted that many sports men and women from the military and para-military organisations had represented the country in various international sporting competitions.
He commended the FRSC for contributing to sports development in the country and promised to assist the agency in developing its sporting activities.
“I appreciate your monthly exercise, only a very healthy workforce can be productive, we know the roles the military and para-military agencies play in sports development in Nigeria.
“Sports men and women from these agencies had won laurels for the country,” he said.
He assured theFRSC of the continued support of the NSC.
