Power outage in some parts of Otjimuise on Friday

WINDHOEK: Residents of Otjimuise area in Amsterdam, part of Tokyo and part of Beijing streets will experience power outage due to upgrading works and encouraged to implement precautionary measures on Friday.

A media statement issued here on Thursday by City of Windhoek department of Communication and Customer care said the residents will face power outage between 08h30 and 15h00.

The statement said the City is periodically upgrades substations, overhead lines, circuit breakers or underground cables to name but a few, to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

“ The City of Windhoek therefore informs our valued clients of a power outage as a result of upgrading works on the Amsterdam Miniature Substation in Otjimuise,” it said.

The City clients and residents are cautioned that power supply must at all times be treated as live during any power outage, as the City will re-energise without prior notification.

“While apologizing for any inconvenience as a result of the temporary power outage, the City of Windhoek remains committed to deliver effective and efficient services, thereby enhancing the quality of life of all our people,” said the statement.
