Hampshire air traffic service provider donates gifts to Christmas campaign
MOST children run downstairs on Christamas morning with their families to enjoy presents and a warm meal.
Wave 105 fm’s charity, Cash for Kids every year runs a Mission Christmas appeal, back by the Daily Echo to ensure children in the south who live in poverty also get to experience the joy of a gift this Christmas.
A Hampshire air traffic service provider teamed up with a facility management company to help donate more than 400 presents to Wave 105’s campaign on December 16.
Backed by the Echo, employees from air traffic provider NATS joined colleagues from facility management company EMCOR UK to collect 421 gifts over three weeks at its headquarters in Whiteley, Fareham.
The two companies also managed to raise £1,006 to help support children in poverty in the south.
The Mission Christmas appeal supports Cash for Kids, the largest annual Christmas toy appeal in the UK.
Wave 105 fm’s charity, the appeal collected more than 78,000 presents last year, with drop off points all around Hampshire.
Mari-Louise White, Wave 105 Cash for Kids charity manager, said: “We’re very grateful to the employees of NATS for all they’ve contributed to the Mission Christmas appeal.
“There presents will go a long way in putting a smile on the faces of children living in poverty.”
Although December 16 was the last active day of the appeal, the charity is still taking donations of presents or cash through their website, www.wave105.com.
Jo Thornton, engagement manager at NATS who organised the donations said: “Christmas is the time for giving and everyone at NATS and EMCOR UK quickly got behind the campaign and have been incredibly supportive of this cause.
“We enjoy supporting various charities and volunteering schemes each year. It’s really important that we can give back to our community and hope these gifts can put a smile on the children’s faces this Christmas.”
