Ethiopian Finance Minister Discusses Economic Reforms with US Officials


ADDIS ABABA — Finance Minister Ahmed Shide led an Ethiopian delegation in strategic discussions with key US officials, including US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Amb. Molly Phee and Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Amb. Michael Hammer, on the sidelines of the 2024 World Bank-IMF Spring Meetings.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, D.C., the talks centered on Ethiopia’s current economic and political reforms, which aim to improve the country’s macroeconomic stability and ensure sustainable development.



The discussions also covered the need for comprehensive support to aid Ethiopia’s economic recovery and promote national and regional stability. This includes mobilizing bilateral support through international institutions like the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, highlighting the collaborative efforts to address Ethiopia’s challenges.
