NAWAZ SHARIF POSITIVELY PRESENTED PAKISTAN’S VIEWPOINT IN UN : JAVED MALIK

Pakistan’s Ambassador at Large and PM’s Special Envoy, Javed Malik has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s speech at the United Nations has presented Pakistan’s point of view in a very positive and comprehensive manner, and the world community has welcomed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s vision for building a progressive Pakistan, developing positive relations with its neighbors and his commitment to resolving all disputes through diplomacy and dialogue.
Moreover, the Prime Minister’s focus on the economic uplift of the people of Pakistan through sustainable development and creating opportunities for expansion of trade and economic relations both regionally and internationally has also sent a very positive message to the world community about Pakistan’s future as a progressive, democratic and stable country. There was also a lot of appreciation for the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s commitment in tackling the issue of extremism, ensuring political stability and rule of law in country and empowering citizens through democracy. The world community has particularly appreciated the bold stance taken by the government and the armed forces on tackling the issue of extremism and there is growing appreciation and realization of the active role that Pakistan is playing in eliminating the menace of extremism and creating a tolerant, inclusive and pluralistic society where citizens are given opportunities for education and employment.
On the issue of Kashmir Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif highlighted its significance and reminded the United Nations of its own resolutions and called for the peaceful resolution of this long standing dispute for the sake of the shared future of the people of the South Asian region. The stance taken by Pakistan to continue to remain engaged with India in resolving all issues including Kashmir through meaningful dialogue was very positively received and the world community fully appreciated that Pakistan’s stand is both equitable, fair and in accordance with UN resolutions. Similarly, Prime Minister’s Nawaz Sharif also outlined Pakistan’s stance on Afghanistan and the prevailing situation in the Middle East in line with Pakistan’s stated foreign policy which was appreciated.
Highlighting the significance of international and multilateral diplomacy, Ambassador Javed Malik said that it was in Pakistan’s national interest that the country is effectively represented by a democratically elected Prime Minister in such an important gathering of world leaders and by attending and presenting Pakistan’s case at the United Nations, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had sent a very positive message about Pakistan to the international community.
