Namibia and Argentina to sign Agriculture MoU

WINDHOEK: The Minister of Agriculture, Water and Forestry (MAWF) John Mutorwa is scheduled to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on co-operation in the field of agriculture with Argentinia.

MAWF Deputy Minister Petrus Iilonga in a media statement issued on Tuesday noted that Mutorwa is accompanied by MAWF Agricultural Economist Sageus Kintinu and Brigadier General James Auala from August 26 Holding Company.

“Both ministries have been exchanging the draft MOU on several occassions. The MOU have been cleared by the legal authorities of Namibia and Argentinia and is now ready to signed by the two ministers,” he noted.

Iilonga added taht once the MOU is signed, both ministries will establish a joint technical working group to oversee the practical implementation of the MOU through a work plan.

The signing ceremony is slated for Thursday in Buenos Aires.

Government is set to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Argentina in a bid to strengthen the level of co-operation between the two friendly countries in the field of agriculture.

Namibia’s Agriculture, Water and Forestry Minister, John Mutorwa will sign the agreement on behalf of his country and government.

His deputy, Petrus Iilonga issued a media statement on Tuesday, saying Mutorwa is accompanied on the trip to Argentina by agricultural economist Sageus Kintinu and Brigadier-General James Auala of August 26 Holdings Company.

“The ministries of agriculture from the two countries have been exchanging the draft MoU on several occassions. The MoU was cleared by the legal authorities of Namibia and Argentinia, and is now ready to be signed by the two ministers,” he noted.

Iilonga added that once the agreement is signed, both ministries will establish a joint technical working group to oversee the practical implementation of the MOU through a work plan.
