The Congress of South African Trade Unions and National Union of Mineworkers will be giving workers feedback on the case of Aurora and what will happen next after the last court appearance of the Aurora directors.
The mass meeting of workers exploited by Aurora will take place on 3rd September 2014 from 10am until 12h00 when Gift of the Givers will be handing food parcel to those poor workers who are facing poverty created by very highly placed rich criminals.
We call on the media to be there to see how workers are exploited in our 21-years democracy by people who have money. Poor workers have been living in hostels with no water, electricity or food. The worst is that majority of those workers have lost their belongings their families are destroyed their children are expelled from school and all their names are blacklisted by credit bureaus.
We are also calling for the Department of Labour to be there to get more information about how to assist those poor workers with their outstanding UIF payments.
We are still calling on anyone to help to eradicate poverty while we wait for the liquidators to collect workers’ money from some of the criminals, as per the court order.
