At a recent summit in Brussels, EU leaders agreed to accelerate accession negotiations with Turkey. In exchange for this, Ankara is supposed to help stop the wave of refugees fleeing to Europe from the Middle East and Africa. It seems that the refugee crisis has brought Turkey closer to the EU.
Has the Commission prepared a specific strategy or plan on how to accelerate negotiations on the individual accession chapters?
Will this not lead to the excessive easing of demands regarding Turkey’s preparedness for EU accession?
