BEIRUT: Lebanon’s state-run news agency says troops have sealed off a town near the Syrian border after attackers ambushed an army force, killing two soldiers and wounding others.
The National News Agency says special forces have set up checkpoints on roads leading to Arsal.
Troops are also deployed in fields around the town.
A Lebanese army general told The Associated Press yesterday that several people have been detained on suspicion of involvement.
The troops were ambushed Friday while trying to detain a suspect, who was also shot dead.
