OPUWO: The three-year-old boy who was run over by a car on Thursday last week, will be buried at the Otjirumbu village in the Epupa Constituency on Wednesday.
The father of the deceased, Micheal Ngorera told Nampa on Monday that preparations for the burial have been finalised, and the child will be laid to rest next to his grandfather.
The victim, Vakaapi Ngorera, was brought from the village of Ohungumure to Opuwo, but a few minutes after being dropped off with his uncle Tuapuirapo Murumbua, the boy ran into the road and was hit by a vehicle.
He died on the spot.
According to a Namibian Police report dated 31 August, Murumbua was standing on the sidewalk, holding the boy’s arm, but the child managed to break away and run into the road.
The vehicle was at a close distance, and could not stop in time.
The incident happened at around 12h25.
A case of culpable homicide has been opened.
