WINDHOEK: The Swapo-Party Political Bureau yesterday said it is unfair and unacceptable that the ‘children of the liberation struggle’ demand special treatment from Government.
Swapo-Party Secretary-General (SG) Nangolo Mbumba said this during a media briefing to announce the resolutions of the party’s political bureau meeting held at its headquarters, also yesterday.
‘The Political Bureau has deliberated on this issue and expressed its discomfort with the manner and attitudes displayed by the so-called children of the liberation struggle,’ Mbumba said.
A group of close to 180 ‘struggle kids’ have been camping in the bush next to the Swapo-Party head office in Katutura since early this month after walking for about 800 kilometres from the north of the country to Windhoek.
The Swapo SG said the ruling party-led Government cannot discriminate against other young people of the country just because they were born inside the country and from parents who remained inside the country.
