WINDHOEK: The Prosecutor-General’s decision in the matter of a young woman arrested in the capital in May last year in connection with the alleged killing of her former lover, will be made public here on Friday.

This was publicly announced by Public Prosecutor Vincent Kwenani on 29 May this year when the accused, Anthea Arnolds, made yet another appearance before Windhoek Magistrate Vanessa Stanley along Luderitz Street.

On the aforesaid date, the alleged murder case was remanded until 27 July 2012 for PG Martha Imalwa to pronounce herself on the matter.

It was also announced on 29 May this year by the prosecution that all Namibian Police investigations into the alleged murder case have now been completed.

The 26-year-old Arnolds caused a public stir in May last year when she handed herself over to members of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Serious Crime Unit on a Saturday evening, shortly after she allegedly killed her ex-lover Michael Breder by shooting him in the head with a pistol.

Breder died on the spot.

The alleged killing took place at Breder’s residence in Windhoek’s Southern Industrial area.

Arnolds, who is a married woman, is currently free on bail of N.dollars 5 000, and that bail was again extended until her next court appearance tomorrow, Friday.

Her bail is, however, coupled with some stringent conditions, one of which is that she should personally report herself three times per week – Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays – at the Windhoek Police Station’s charge-office.

She was further ordered during her first court appearance before Windhoek Magistrate Jermaine Muchali on 17 May 2011 to surrender all her travel documents to members of NamPol’s Windhoek-based Crime Investigations’ Department.

Arnolds may also not attempt to apply for any travel documents until such time that her murder case has been finalised, and was furthermore ordered not to leave the district of Windhoek without making prior arrangements with the police officers investigating her case.

Windhoek-based lawyer James Dedricks is representing Arnolds.
