OKAKARARA: Okakarara Trade Fair Chief Executive Officer, (CEO) Caleb Majooka expressed happiness with N.dollars 72 000 collected at a fund raising gala dinner which took place at Okakarara on Friday evening.
Majooka told Nampa in an interview on Friday that local banks, individuals, farmers and near-by local authorities pledged money so that this year’s Okakarara Trade Fair becomes a success. “The money collected here last night (Friday) will be used for logistical purposes as well as to market the Okakarara Trade Fair Society to other countries,” said Majooka.
The 2012 Okakarara Trade Fair will take place on 04 to 09 September at the town’s trade fair centre.
He said more than 350 exhibitors have already booked stalls so far, and those still looking to hurry-up for the few ones left. The prices of stalls are in between N.dollars 400 for SMEs to N.dollars 4 500 for corporate companies and Government Ministries.
He warned that August will be only for allocating spaces and stalls to exhibitors, not to register participants. “Therefore, I urge all exhibitors willing to participate in our trade fair to come and register before next week, not to come to us in last minute,” he said.
He reminded all corporate companies, government ministries, farmers and small medium enterprises (SMEs) to remember that Okakarara Trade Fair is a platform created for them to interact with various clients from Namibia and elsewhere. Okakarara Constituency Councillor, Vetaruhe Kandorozu, also added that the idea behind the trade fair here is to boast economy of Otjozondjupa Region and that of the whole country.
The Okakarara Trade Fair which started its business activities in 2006, will make a sixth anniversary this year.
