MALAYSIA: SOUTH AFRICAN TOURIST DROWNS NEAR PULAU PERHENTIAN KECIL

BESUT, Terengganu state, Malaysia A South African tourist drowned near Pulau Perhentian Kecil, located about 10 nautical miles from this coastal town, Tuesday.

Besut police chief Supt Mohd Zamri Mohd Rowi said the body Magiet Mogamat Saaid, 66, from Cape Town, was recovered at 12.30pm.

He said Magiet Mogamat is believed to have suffered a heart attack while out on a diving outing with three friends at Coral Bay, Pulau Perhentian Kecil.

He is said to have come to the island on July 13.

Meanwhile, the body of a teacher from Kelantan state identified as Eliza Nurhidayah Mohd Rajali, 35, was found beached by the public at Flora Bay, Teluk Dalam, Pulau Perhentian Besar yesterday.

She and her husband along with several other family members had come to the holiday island two days ago and had gone out for a swim on her own early in the morning.
