WINDHOEK: The leadership of the Namibia National Students’ Organisation (Nanso) has expressed its shock over the death of the Minister of Education, Dr Abraham Iyambo who passed away on Saturday.
Iyambo died while on official duty in London, United Kingdom on Saturday, which was also his birthday.
Nanso Secretary for Information, Owen Matengu in a media statement here today described Iyambo as a ‘true hero’.
The information secretary said Nanso feels Iyambo has ‘gone too soon’.
Meanwhile, President Hifikepunye Pohamba said during the announcement of Iyambo’s death on the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) television on Saturday afternoon that arrangements were made to bring the late minister’s remains to Namibia from London.
The late Iyambo recently returned from Cuba, where he received a medical check-up.
