WINDHOEK: First Lady Penehupifo Pohamba yesterday called on the Namibian youth to enrol themselves at the Lukas Hifikepunye Hospitality and Computer Training Centre in the Grysblok area of Katutura.
She said that it is a very good initiative that will complement the ongoing efforts of the government to expand access to hospitality services and training of young Namibians.
The centre is situated at the Zanele Mbeki Pre-Primary School and Day Care Centre in the Grysblok area of Katutura, and currently offers training in areas such as receptionist duties, basic computer literacy, communication skills, waitering, customer care and housekeeping.
It opened its doors for the first time in January this year to 10 students, and runs certificate courses for six months only.
She noted that the centre will also strengthen and broaden the partnership between the private and public sectors in the provision of training of Namibian people.
