Hausiku made the call in the presence of Gomachab and Heibeb during his visit to Oshivelo here on Thursday. The Deputy Premier was at Oshivelo to inform Oshivelo’s Hai-//Om community members that the government has, through its resettlement programme, acquired Farm Ondera, situated about 30km east of Oshivelo, for them.
The government is to resettle willing members of the Hai-//Om San Community from Oshivelo with the intention that they engage in crop production.
Several members of the Hai-//Om San Community complained during the meeting with Hausiku that a personal disagreement between Gomachab (representing the government) and Heibeb (representing the Hai-//Om Traditional Authority) continues to cause disunity among the Oshivelo community.
Gomachab and Heibeb are said to have a personal conflict for many years. The community said the two leaders do not ‘sit around one fire’ for reasons only known to them.
Hausiku wants to see Gomachab and Heibeb put their personal vendetta aside when serving the Oshivelo community.
Oshivelo falls under the Guinas Constituency, and is one of the San community centres in Namibia, dominated by members of the Hai-//Om San Community.
