WINDHOEK: Consultations are underway between the Namibian Government and the government of Turkey for Turkish Airlines to establish a direct route to Namibia.
Turkey’s Ambassador to Namibia, Mirat Ahmet Yoruk said yesterday that if Turkish Airlines starts to fly to Namibia, it will boost trade and tourism sectors between the two countries.
Yourk said this while paying a courtesy call on Prime Minister Dr Hage Geingob at the Premier’s office yesterday.
The Turkish Airlines operates to 163 international and 41 domestic cities (38 domestic airports), serving a total of 204 airports, in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
On his part, Geingob said Turkey is a good friend of Namibia and supports the country in all its endeavours, adding that Namibia would like to establish an embassy in that country, but do not have the resources.
