KALKFELD: The construction of the first-ever business park for Kalkfeld settlement in the Otjozondjupa Region is progressing well.
The complex was commissioned by the Namibia Development Corporation (NDC) on 01 August 2012 at Kalkfeld in Otjozondjupa Region, and is being constructed by the Goro Investment Company.
Construction site manager, Immanuel Nambwa told Nampa in an interview yesterday that the first phase of the construction has already been completed.
The complex is expected to be completed within 18 months at a cost over N.dollars 14 million coming from the government’s national development budget.
In his official statement at the occasion that marked the handing over of the construction site, Otjiwarongo Regional Councillor Otto Iipinge said the Otjozondjupa Regional Council has a master plan to turn Kalkfeld into a modern town.
Iipinge said the business complex is one of the projects out of many already approved by the Otjozondjupa Regional Council to bring development to the area.
The 23-year-old suspect charged with robbing and murdering Oshekedhiya Apostolic Faith Mission Pastor, Gabriel Abiatar Uugwanga earlier this month appeared in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Hamutenya Mateiko Bernardo Matheus made a brief first appearance on charges of murder and theft, where he was not asked to plead and was remanded in police custody.
His case was postponed to 13 December this year to allow for further police investigations.
Matheus stands used of killing Uugwanga on 04 October.
The 71-year-old pastor’s body was found in a pool of blood in a zinc house at his cattle post at Uulunga waDaniel in the semi-desert area in the south of the Oshana Region.
