National Police will step up in coming days strict fight against illegal immigration, in cooperation with the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME).

The fact was announced Friday in Luanda by the minister of Home Affairs, Ângelo da Veiga Tavares.

The Interior minister was speaking at the main event marking 38 years of the National Police at National School of Public Order Police.

The Cabinet official said that both companies and individuals that persist having under their control illegal foreign nationals must stop with these practices immediately.

As for the organs of the National Police inspection, the minister said he expected more determination, both in educational activities and penalties against indecent acts committed by some members of the corporation.

The minister said that the man continues to be the main factor of this institution and, to this end, it is necessary to improve the working conditions of police staff, by introducing modern techniques.

He called for the need to structure the Social Protection Fund to benefit those who had given their best for the corporation.

On the external plan, the minister of Interior defended the need of National Police to maintain their acting role in the interaction with the other policemen, namely through the organisation of the Southern African Police and Interpol in combat the cross-border crimes, within their existing bilateral and multilateral relations.
