WINDHOEK: A delegation of professors from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)’s University of Kinshasa led by the DRC’s Ambassador to Namibia yesterday paid a courtesy call on President Hifikepunye Pohamba.
The visit to State House was aimed at strengthening cooperation between the University of Namibia (Unam) and the University of Kinshasa.
In his welcoming remarks, Pohamba wished the DRC’s Ambassador to Namibia, Kabobo Kasongo Wa Kimba and the entire staff of the embassy a prosperous 2013, while the Ambassador wished Pohamba, the Government and people of Namibia a bright future.
Wa Kimba extended their heartfelt condolences on the passing away of Minister of Education Dr Abraham Iyambo, saying the DRC embassy staff, the Congolese community here and himself are deeply touched by the loss.
The delegation arrived in Namibia last Thursday, and has so far held a meeting with Unam Vice-Chancellor Professor Lazarus Hangula and paid a courtesy call on former President Dr Sam Nujoma.
