Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias’ statement to journalists before his meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, (Dubai, 22.12.2022)

After concluding my Balkan tour, I am in the United Arab Emirates, in Dubai as part of the regular contacts with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah, as provided for in Article 2 of the Agreement I had the honor to sign with the Emirates, which, I recall, includes a defense assistance clause. The United Arab Emirates plays a very important role in the region. Furthermore, it is a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. They will also host COP28 on the environment next year.

In this regard, there is a great depth of cooperation, considering that we will organize the Ocean Conference 2024. I look forward to another very fruitful exchange of views.
