OUAGADOUGOU — The draw for the round of 16 of the Faso Cup was held in Ouagadougou on Saturday, setting the stage for several high-profile matches among Burkina Faso’s football elites. Organized by the Professional Football League, this round features clashes between leading teams like Salitas FC and AS Douanes, as well as USFA and AS SONABEL.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the most anticipated matchups include Ligue 1 leader AS Douanes facing off against Salitas FC, and the military team of USFA challenging the electricians of AS SONABEL, currently second in Ligue 1. Other notable games include Bobo Racing Club (RCB) against Sporting Cascade in a Western derby and ASEC-K from Koudougou taking on EFO, often referred to as the Queen of stadiums. Additional fixtures such as Kozaf versus Leopards SC and Aso against Royal FC are also generating significant interest. The matches are slated for May 8 and 9, with the EFO holding the title of the current Faso Cup champion.
