Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias to visit Albania (Tirana, 23.05.2022)

Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias will travel to Albania tomorrow, Monday 23 May, where he will meet, at the beginning of his visit, with members of the Greek national minority from Himarë and then with His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania.

The Minister will then have a one-on-one meeting with the Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, followed by expanded talks.

Joint statements to the press will be made at approximately 12:00 (local time).

The Minister of Foreign Affairs will then be received by the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama. A one-on one meeting will take place, followed by a working lunch.

Talks will focus on issues of bilateral, European and regional interest, with emphasis on the course of Greek-Albanian relations in all areas, the preparations for the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) Summit, on developments in Ukraine following the Russian invasion, in the Eastern Mediterranean region and in the European perspective of the Western Balkans.
