OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine to hold conference on role of dialogue in promoting reforms and resolving crises

KYIV, 10 December 2015 – An international conference on reviewing efforts and prospects for strengthening the country’s stability and promoting reforms through national dialogue is being organized by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine on Friday, 11 December 2015 in Kyiv.

Officials, civil society activists, and prominent local and international experts will discuss how to ensure the stable and sustainable development of the country through dialogue,   examining the international experience in conflict prevention and resolution, and debate its applicability for Ukraine. Participants will also review various dialogue initiatives in South-east Europe, the South Caucasus, the Black Sea region, and Tunisia.  

The keynote speakers include, among others, Vaidotas Verba, OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine; Juha Virtanen, Ambassador of Finland to Ukraine; Dmytro Shymkiv, Deputy Head of Administration of Ukraine’s Presidential Office; Janthomas Hiemstra, Country Director for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP); Andriy Gevko, Deputy Minister of Education and Sciences; Tetyana Popova, Deputy Minister of Information; Ganna Vronska, Deputy Minister of Environment; and Algirdas Semeta, Business Ombudsman.

Media representatives are invited to attend the conference on Friday, 11 December 2015, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, 22 Yaroslaviv Val St., Kyiv, from 9:30 hrs. Registration begins at 8:30 hrs.
