Police and Security Company Collaboration Leads to Arrests


Klerksdorp – A joint effort between a private security company and the South African Police Service (SAPS) resulted in the arrest of two suspects in Klerksdorp on Thursday night, 21 December 2023. This collaborative operation underscores the importance of partnership in tackling crime.



According to South African Police Service, The police were notified by the security company about two individuals observed jumping a fence with items including a lightning conductor and copper pipes. On arrival, the police apprehended the suspects, aged 23 and 26, who could not account for the possession of the suspected stolen property. As the homeowners are away for Christmas holidays, the extent of the theft remains unconfirmed. The suspects are scheduled to appear before the Klerksdorp Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 27 December 2023, facing charges of possession of suspected stolen property and trespassing. Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, the Provincial Police Commissioner, praised the security company and police for their collaborative effort in ensuring the arrest.
