Gnagna Marks International Women’s Day with Health Initiatives


BOGANDÉ — The province of Gnagna commenced its celebration of the 167th International Women’s Day on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, with a health-focused day, showcasing the community’s commitment to cleanliness and public well-being. The Provincial Coordination of Women of Gnagna spearheaded a sanitation day, targeting several public spaces within the city of Bogandé for cleanup.



According to Burkina Information Agency, this sanitation effort marks the beginning of a series of activities leading up to International Women’s Day, observed globally on March 8. Participants, including a large number of women from the Gnagna community, undertook the cleaning of various significant locations, from the large market to the premises of the Kolgweogo self-defense groups, the high police station, and the gendarmerie, effectively removing garbage and improving the cleanliness of these areas.



The commemorative events are set to continue with a variety of activities, including a shopping street and an aerobics session scheduled for Thursday, March 7. The highlight of the celebration, planned for March 8, 2024, is a blood donation drive at the Bogandé sports center, aimed at supporting local blood banks.
