CEB de Gourcy2 Launches Sports and Cultural Season for 2023-2024

Gourcy, Burkina Faso – The Basic Education District (CEB) of Gourcy2 officially launched its sports and cultural season for the 2023-2024 school year on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, in Niessega.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Following the village of Rogo, Niessega hosted the official launch of CEB de Gourcy2’s sports and cultural season. The opening competition pitted Niessega school “C” against Koundouba “B”, resulting in a narrow 1-0 victory for Niessega “C”. The Provincial Director in charge of education of Zondoma, Karim Sawadogo, attended the ceremony. Before the game, Director Sawadogo praised the CEB community for their enthusiasm and commitment to the event, underscoring the significance of sports and culture in the educational development of students.

Patoim Sankara, the head of the district, together with his team, encouraged teachers, parents, students, and partners to actively contribute to the success of the season, which is themed “Interculturality, a factor of resilience in our school”. The CEB of Gourcy2 encompasses 66 public and private primary schools, with 370 teachers and over 15,000 students. The final phases of the season are scheduled for May 2024.
