Burkina Faso Minister Calls for National Support in Sovereignty Battle

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso – In a fervent appeal issued this Tuesday, Bassolma Bazié, Burkina Faso’s Minister of Civil Service, Labor, and Social Protection, urged all socio-professional groups to bolster the Burkinabè Transition, aiming to reclaim the country’s sovereignty.

According to Burkina Information Agency, since facing ongoing terrorist attacks starting in 2015, Burkina Faso is engaged in a critical war of liberation.

Minister Bazié, who also holds the title of Minister of State, emphasized the necessity for enhanced commitment, determination, solidarity, and a spirit of sacrifice to address the nation’s challenges. He called on workers to unify solidly and consciously around the Transition’s leadership to combat any threats to their existence. “It is in this unity that our salvation lies,” Bazié stated.

He highlighted the indispensable unity of all citizens to oppose any attempts at recolonizing Burkina Faso. While acknowledging the significant progress made due to the Burkinabè people’s sacrifices, Bazié noted that the expectations remain high. These include the complete liberation of national territory, ongoing resettlement of populations, reopening of educational and healthcare facilities, and the continuous equipping of the nation’s defense forces.

Additionally, achieving food self-sufficiency and revising agricultural and land reform laws to address and resolve land conflicts are among the top priorities outlined by the Minister. Bazié also underlined the importance of active solidarity among nations in the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) for social advancement and communal harmony.
