Labor Minister Bazié Highlights Burkina Faso’s Resilience and Progress in Labor Day Address


Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso – In a statement released on Tuesday in Ouagadougou, the Minister in charge of Labor, Bassolma Bazié, commended the Burkinabè people for their efforts in overcoming challenges and advancing in areas of security, culture, economy, and governance. During the International Labor Day celebrations, the Minister lauded the nation’s collective response to the call of the Head of State, which facilitated significant strides in national sovereignty and development.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the resilience and sacrifice of the Burkinabè people have been instrumental in achieving several milestones. These include the departure of foreign forces, initiation of major constitutional reforms, and improvements in public administration. On the security front, the recruitment and training of defense personnel have significantly increased, with notable advancements in military infrastructure and capabilities.



Economically, the country has seen the initiation of key industrial projects, such as the IRO-TEXBURKINA textile complex and a tomato processing factory, alongside infrastructure enhancements and revisions to the Mining Code to benefit the state. Socially, long-standing issues have been addressed, including the resolution of employment cases and the improvement of health and education services.



Culturally, Burkina Faso has reinvigorated its commitment to preserving its heritage, exemplified by the establishment of May 15 as the Day of Customs and Traditions. In governance, efforts have been made to enhance transparency and efficiency within the civil service through the implementation of e-competition platforms and the reorganization of public institutions.



The minister also paid tribute to the memory of those who have sacrificed their lives for the nation and acknowledged the contributions from voluntary and compulsory levies, which have supported the country’s ongoing security efforts and assistance to internally displaced persons.
