Huge blaze hits Jigjiga’s largest market

A huge blaze engulfed the Taiwan market, the largest market in Jigjiga, the administrative capital of the Somali regional state in Ethiopia, on Friday night. According to media sources, the Taiwan market was destroyed and was compared to the incident at Waheen market in Hargeisa that occurred last year. There have not been any fatalities reported or serious injuries from the fire. The firefighter tried their best to extinguish the fire, but it proved fruitless, even though help came from neighboring cities but were unsuccessful and too late.
