Machakos Set For A Major Economic Transformation

Machakos County has begun a journey of Economic transformation which will trigger a major turnaround for the local economy through direct investments and creation of job opportunities Governor Wavinya has said.
The Machakos Governor who was speaking when hosting a delegation of local and International investors at her office, said that her government has started a strategic partnership with International Development partners.
She said the area of partnership as agreed with the investors will include establishment of various industries in the existing industrial parks, agriculture, health, water, and infrastructure and learning institutions.
‘I am excited that these initiatives which will be rolled out in coming months will open a new chapter in turning around our economy and opening up various job opportunities,’ said Wavinya.
Wavinya urged Machakos residents to cast their nets wide and tap into all the opportunities that shall take root as a consequence of the historic forum in order to improve their livelihoods.
As one of the international investors, King Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the traditional monarch of the Yoruba Kingdom of Ife-Ife, said that the entire East African Economy cannot do without Kenya because it play a vital role in the entire economy.
The King said he wants to make a solid commitment to Machakos people that in 180 days he will be investing in affordable housing, civil works, and hospital development.
‘We are ready and we want to work so we urge Machakos people to appeal to all government partnerships so that we work together and all letters of interest will be submitted to the respective parties immediately,’ said King Adeyeye
He said it is important for Kenya to combine forces with Nigeria and expand the economy making the African continent a success by developing counties and reducing poverty.
King Adeyeye added that he wants to equip a gender based violence centre for women in Machakos by donating Sh. 2 Million, he also committed to give the Youth revolving fund Sh. 3 Million and to give children with disability in Machakos sh. 3 Million annually.
