Bogandé Municipal Delegation Reviews 2023 Special Report

BOGANDÉ — On Thursday, February 15, 2024, the special municipal delegation of Bogandé convened in the town hall’s conference room for its first ordinary session of the year, dedicated entirely to reviewing the 2023 special report by the President of the Special Delegation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, President of the Special Delegation, the session’s primary focus was the detailed examination of the report, which outlines the commune’s status regarding transferred materials, service operations, execution of council deliberations, and the financial standing, as mandated by article 250 of law 055-2004/AN from December 21, 2004, which establishes the general code of local authorities in Burkina Faso. The report serves as a means for the mayor or the president of the special delegation to account for the management of communal affairs under their stewardship.

The report highlighted that in 2023, the municipality of Bogandé received total transfers and allocations amounting to 121,085,098 CFA francs, covering four main areas: education, health, culture, and youth. The internal revenue collection was reported at 109,261,602 CFA francs, achieving a 93.30% success rate. External revenues were documented at 225,833,699 CFA francs, marking a 77.63% achievement, and other revenues stood at 335,095,301 CFA francs, or 82.12%. Investment figures for the year were estimated at 111,066,078 CFA francs.

The town hall of Bogandé operates with 12 functional departments, each led by regularly appointed managers who provided an overview of their activities in 2023, addressed challenges, and suggested improvements for better performance.

Despite the challenging security situation, the collective efforts of all parties involved have led to significant achievements and the fulfillment of the community’s needs. The session’s participants expressed hope for a resolution to the security issues, facilitating the effective and efficient execution of action plans. Additionally, the session led to the adoption of several deliberations, including the creation of a service for the promotion and socio-professional integration of youth, the establishment of water pricing and lease management, the implementation of a tax on station pumps, and the approval of the 2024 Procurement Plan.
