Prime Minister Kuugongelwa-Amadhila Urges Businesses to Fuel National Growth at Tsandi Trade Fair

Tsandi, Namibia—Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila has called upon the business community to bolster economic activities across the country.

According to NAMPA, who spoke at the opening of the third edition of the Tsandi Annual Trade Fair and Business Expo (TATFE) on Monday, the event serves as a testament to the local authority’s commitment to fostering local businesses and urban development.

Kuugongelwa-Amadhila emphasized the crucial role local authorities play in national development by delivering essential services to communities and businesses. An increased business presence would necessitate investments in public infrastructure and augment the capacities of local authorities, she noted.

The Prime Minister urged Namibian businesses to continue scouting for business prospects within the country. She highlighted that numerous opportunities remain untapped, particularly in emerging towns and rural areas.

Erastus Uutoni, the Minister for Urban and Rural Development, commented that the TATFE aims to stimulate Tsandi’s local economy. The expo serves as a platform for local businesses and small to medium-sized enterprises while attracting property investors to Tsandi.

Uutoni added that the event provides an opportunity to become acquainted with the diverse products, services, and investment openings available in the strategically located village.

Selma Kadhila, Chairperson of the Tsandi Village Council, pointed out that the expo is designed to elevate the village’s economy to a new level. The TATFE was first launched in 2018 but had been paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event, which began on October 28, will run through November 4, 2023, and is themed ‘Reviving the local economy, cultural diversity, tourism and enhancement for adequate service delivery.’
