Bouden meets Singapore’s ambassador in Tunis

The promotion of cooperation relations between Tunisia and Singapore was at the centre of the meeting held on Friday between Prime Minister Nejla Bouden and Singapore’s Ambassador to Tunisia, Anthony Ang.

The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the state of cooperation relations between the two countries and to reaffirm the common concern to further promote them, while benefiting from the role that Tunisia can play in its Arab, African and Mediterranean environment, said a statement of the Prime Ministry.

Quoted in the same press release, the Prime Minister stressed to the Singaporean diplomat the need to boost bilateral cooperation, affirming in this regard that the economic reforms undertaken by the government have the ultimate goal of providing the attributes of a business climate conducive to investment.

Bouden called for accelerating the pace of trade between the two countries and promoting cooperation in the fields of higher education, scientific research, start-ups and craft industries.

For his part, the Singaporean ambassador in Tunis expressed his country’s willingness to further promote cooperation with Tunisia, particularly in the sectors of vocational training, tourism and air transport.

In this context, the Singaporean diplomat reviewed the results of the visit of a delegation of Singaporean businessmen to Tunisia last January, saying that the visit was fruitful.
