AIB Journalists and Technicians Boost Skills in Social Media and Graphic Design


OUAGADOUGOU – The Burkina Faso Information Agency (AIB) has recently concluded a four-day training program for its journalists and technicians, focusing on the use of social networks and graphic design. The training, organized by the Association for Media Development (ADM), ended on Thursday afternoon in Ouagadougou, marking a significant step in enhancing digital media skills among AIB staff.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of ADM, the training was a pivotal moment for the participants. “The end of the training marks the completion of an important internship but also the beginning of a significant transformation,” she stated during the closing ceremony at the AIB. The program, which ran from Monday, January 15, to Thursday, January 18, 2024, aimed to equip the participants with a comprehensive understanding of the social media ecosystem, competitive monitoring, efficient management, and mastery of graphic design tools.



Assétou Badoh/Guiré, the General Director of Editions Sidwaya, visited the journalists and technicians during the training on Thursday morning. She expressed gratitude to ADM for enhancing the media agents’ capacities and underscored the training’s alignment with Editions Sidwaya’s internal objectives. “This training will allow us to strengthen our presence on social networks and secure our digital platforms,” she declared. Ms. Badoh also encouraged all AIB staff to undergo the training for better application of the newly acquired skills.



Aimé Mouorissing Kambiré, the director of the AIB, who represented the DG at the closing ceremony, praised the training’s relevance to the AIB’s expressed needs. “The training will help us further with the objectives we have set for this year,” he noted, addressing the trainers.



Trainer Karim Kaboré highlighted the training’s potential impact, stating it would greatly assist journalists in gaining an edge on social networks and in content creation to grow their audience. Aissata Bangré, a representative of the AIB staff, thanked ADM for organizing the training and the management of Editions Sidwaya and the AIB for facilitating it. She expressed the staff’s intention to apply the skills learned to make the AIB more dynamic and visible.
