Burkina: Combatant Forces clean up several localities in the west
The FDS and VDP carried out a raid from August 7 to September 1, 2023 which made it possible to neutralize more than 65 terrorists and recover equipment in localities such as Ouangolodougou, Konkala, Folonzon, Doutie, Soussié, Gouandougou, Poïkoro, Bolybana, Sirakoro and Diarakorosso, indicates the army.

“The 7th Rapid Intervention Battalion (7th BIR) conducted a raid from August 7 to September 1, 2023 on several terrorist markers in Kénédougou, Houet and Cascades.
The operation, carefully prepared and carried out on the basis of precise information, made it possible to clean up localities such as Ouangolodougou, Konkala, Folonzon, Doutie, Soussié, Gouandougou, Poïkoro, Bolybana, Sirakoro and Diarakorosso.
The cumulative toll of the various actions carried out shows more than sixty-five (65) terrorists
neutralized. Very large quantities of weapons, ammunition, food, road equipment,
lants and means of communication were recovered by the units on the terrorist bases
dismantled.
During the same operation, several actions were carried out for the benefit of the populations with
notably the resettlement of populations in certain localities and the restoration of electricity
and telephone networks in others.
05 injured were recorded on the friendly side including 02 VDP.
The Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces wishes a speedy recovery to the injured. He congratulates the units for this victorious action which considerably weakens the armed terrorist groups in the Western region. He urges the FDS and the VDP to continue, with the same determination, the efforts undertaken within the framework of the reconquest of the national territory.
