Minister Bazié Advocates for Improved Employee Living Conditions

Ouagadougou: Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Bassolma Bazié, presented a bill aimed at restructuring the social security system to the Parliamentary Committee on General, Institutional Affairs and Human Rights (CAGIDH).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the proposed legislation focuses on enhancing the living standards of both private and public sector workers, including voluntary taxpayers. Minister Bazié emphasized the bill’s intent to reduce the precariousness of workers no longer in active service and excluded one-time old age allowances from its provisions. He also noted that the last registered public social security organization would be responsible for retirement benefits, ensuring continuity in contribution periods. The bill has been developed through collaborative efforts including multiple institutions, aiming for comprehensive improvement in social security.
