Burkina Faso’s Transitional President Calls for Civic Engagement and Discipline

Ouagadougou — Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso’s President of the Transition, has urged citizens and presidential staff to contribute ideas for the nation’s progress. In an appeal for national unity and innovation, Traoré emphasized the importance of collective effort in advancing Burkina Faso’s development.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the country’s advancement relies heavily on the contributions of talented and innovative citizens. Speaking at a flag-raising ceremony at the presidency on Monday, he encouraged both the staff of the presidential office and the wider public to present proposals that could help move the nation forward. The President underscored the necessity of exemplary conduct, particularly in the current times, and advocated for what he termed “situational intelligence.”

Highlighting the foundations of nation-building, President Traoré denounced indiscipline and disorder, signaling a new phase in the transitional period where such behaviors would not be tolerated. Additionally, he called on the nation to demonstrate self-sacrifice in their work ethics, express support for the Fighting Forces, and preferentially use products made in Burkina, in a bid to foster patriotism and self-reliance.
