Diplomatic Community in Addis Ababa Extends Easter Wishes to Ethiopian Christians

ADDIS ABABA — In a collective gesture of goodwill, ambassadors and embassies from various countries based in Addis Ababa have extended their best wishes to the Ethiopian Christian community as they celebrate Easter, known locally as Fasika. This year, the holiday is marked following 55 days of fasting and commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the outreach included personal messages from several key ambassadors. Yevgeny Terekhin from Russia, Abdi Mahamoud Eybe from Djibouti, and Kira Smith from Denmark, among others, expressed their greetings to the Ethiopian faithful. Additionally, the embassies of the United States, Israel, United Kingdom, Iran, Pakistan, Australia, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Burundi, and Eritrea also conveyed their best wishes.

The community’s collective message highlighted a hope for a blessed and joyous celebration across Ethiopia, reflecting a strong bond of respect and friendship between the diplomatic representatives and their host nation.
